Default Honda diff part number

I just finished oil change on my car. I was going to replace diff/tranny but it got so hot outside and couldn't work on the car anymore.

I went thru few threads when i was shopping for diff fluids and read people had issue with honda diff fluid. When i bought this car back in march, i straight went to honda dealer in mckinney and got my oil/tranny/diff fluid changed.

Ok, after oil changed today. I looked thru receipt and it says...

R/DIFF SRV 02&UP CRV units
Qty 2: 90401-PCZ-003 Gasket
QTY 2: 3376 GEAR OIL 90W

So this oil is what people had issue with diff?? And why two Qty? And on tranny, it says 3qty?

I'm kinda lost.

Honda does not have special factory fill rear diff fluid. It just specifies 70W90. And by looking at "R/DIFF SRV 02&UP CRV units" it looks like you got something that was meant for a CR-V.

Honda McKinney is famous for putting VTM-4 into the rear diff of a S2000.

You only need ONE qt. of gear oil for the S2000.

Thanks scott. Now that make sense that why I couldn't find that part number thru many honda website. I was wonder why they charged me one extra bottle for tranny and diff. I wasn't sure if honda bottle comes in smaller than qt.

Looks like I made a mistake.

I called dealer this morning. And asked questions and act like I'm buying a diff fluid for s2k. And guy@part depart knew VTM-4 fluid isn't for s2k. They told me its honda 80/90 that they use on s2k.
After that, I talked to service guy and he wasn't sure why it says CRV on paper but he told me they will refund my money.

Anyway I just finished tran/diff fluid. Now I feel much better but its damm hot...
