Mine was similar to yours but yours def. looks worse. What year is your S? Mine was an 05, so if yours is newer it will be valued a bit higher. Based on my experience I would guess it will not be totaled, mine was not, and this is only if there was no frame damage.

The replacement car is your call so don't worry what others might say, personally your analysis of it is dead on.

Do you have any pricey after market parts? I don't believe insurance gives fair market value for them. If you kept your stock replacement you might want to see if you can swap them out. Just a thought.

Are those CR wheels too? Are the more expensive than normal stockers?

I think it was 100% stock except for tires

the multiquote system on this forum is crap.

mrklean, i used to live two minutes from there. you were right next to flying saucer. my damage is more extensive than yours but a lot of it is just the door...but maybe frame?

thanks steve!! lol

yes my car was stock, except for standard '08 wheels (non-CR). here is a good example of why i stopped modding cars.

Yep, right next the flying saucer! I was about 6 inches from hitting that light pole, too! If That happened it would prob have been totaled! My parts/repairs came out to about $10k so that should give you ballpark as to around what you should be over in order to be totaled.

you are correct matt I use to do wreck jobs all the time when I worked at the stealership its amazing how much gets missed and insurance companies hate supplements and if a shop does it to many times they try to discourage customers from using said shop/dealer don't miss that at all

Bummer about the wreck. I know nothing about body repair so I can't say anything about it being totaled, but the fact that the bottom edge was hit tells me that it's a lot bigger job than it might be otherwise. Did the Airbags go off? I've heard know-nothing people on the internet claim that the cost of the airbags/dash plus the impact strength to set them off often times is an indicator of whether it'll be totaled or not.

It SUCKS when someone hits you. I hope they can fix it, I’m concerned that the vertical member, the end of the fire wall, that the door hinges attach to is bent too much. I hope it didn’t damage or deform the platfrom/frame to the point that it can’t be repaired correctly. I would take it to the best body shop I could find in the metroplex. It's good that the both of you are okay. The Lotus is a cool car but don't give up on the S2000, it's in my opinion one of the best drivers cars out there.
