s2000r

This is exactly what happened to me. The 'approved repairer' re-did the geo and left it worse than before.

I had to spend £90 at WIM to get it sorted again.

I had print outs showing the original garage were wrong, or their kit was defective. I tried to get the £90 out of my insurers as it was not right, but all I got back was that it was within the Honda tolerances!!!!!

This is where it would be nice to have an insurers who understood performance cars when it comes to claim time... is that too much to ask?

I feel your pain anyway...

Aside from the mentioned lack of symetry on the rear camber, you also have a very big difference between front and rear camber. On the left hand side almost 2.5 degrees.

TGM had upped the front, but your garage has reduced them again to stock values and increased the rear upwards a bit.

Common fast road setting usually maintain a 1 deg camber difference between front and rear, rather than the 2 and a half you have on one side.

If you can get the alignment done again for free, you give them the camber values and tell them you want them to be within 2 mins of those values - perfectly doable on their machine.

Standard setting is 1°30' on the rear. What they've given you is not standard by a long way.

There are plenty out there, but you have to ask the right questions and find one you trust.
No different to having any other elective work done really.

Remember that you are entitled to use ANY repairer that YOU choose, thats your legal right.

I know M1, and I'll be ever thankful for the info you gave me at the time. However, going with my own repairers would have meant I was car less for 3 weeks. Also, I didn't realise at the time about geo and how sensitive the S was. Better the devil you know I guess.

The issue you are reporting would be due to the rear Toe applied by the Insurance Approved garage.

Have a look here as it may give you a better understanding of wheel alignment/suspension geometry
http://www.beissbarth.co.uk/stability/index.html

You really need to use someone who has the very best of kit (Beissbarth, though the top of the range Hunter is also pretty good) and knows how to use it correctly. Where are you located as I maybe able to point you in the right direction.

I would speak to your insurance company and tell them you are not happy. I very much doubt you will get anywhere but ask about reimbursement if you take it elsewhere to be sorted.

Like the others say, it's the cross-camber that's an abortion.

There is a load of old bollocks talked about this geo being better than that geo; follow the equal & opposite rule for a start & vary from there according to taste.
