Default Assistance Please

Her battery ran down last week to the apparently dead level. However, it started first time on a jump start so it can't have been completely dodo like but when I took it out with the intention of driving 10 or 20 miles to give it a good charge, the engine warning light came on and it wouldn't rev above 3,000 - a limiter kicked in. I think I need to reset the ECU but I've checked the FAQ and there's nothing directly on the point. I think this has been the subject of threads before but I can't find them so help please,

Once fiddling with power on the S , i got a fault code
it was something to do with PCM. Not sure if it affected
driving though as I removed the code straight away.

I think the fault code was caused because the ECU did
not powerup correctly.

Hope the ECU reset works out.
