Got my thick sump flange and engine mounts from the laser place today, the sump flange is ever so slightly bowed, going to tack it down to a thick flat sheet of mild (around 20mm thick) and progress from there.

Offered up the engine mounts up to a photocopy of my old onesand it all matches up beautifully.
I did notice when I compared the two new mounts together that there was a 5mm discrepancy in the frame rail holes between the two mounts, this is also the same on the old mounts. Completely missed this the first time round. I've worked out that because of this the engine is tilted to one side by 0.42 degrees.

This had me panicing at first but after looking at a protractor and seeing how little it actually is and then taking into account how far some engines rock when being revved I have since calmed down.

Any thoughts on this issue?

Sending the mounts away for anodising on tuesday (payday lol)
Air/fuel ratio gauge turned up today too!
Car should be getting wired in about a week and a half. Still shitting myself about the deadline.
Rhd and Lhd engine mounts are different, the idea being to bias the gearstick towards the driver.I have Lhd mounts in my car,not through any clever though process, purely because I got them with all the other bits I got from America.... But there is an advantage with mine,it gives a small amount of extra room for the Turbo, exhaust mani, down pipe.
I'm not using the honda mounts at all, like yourself I'm doing it American style and those mutters have solid mounted their V8s to the frame rails!
I did think about using them and making a bracket but there is virtually no room :/ plus I had these motor plates anyway so why re-invent the wheel?

But I didn't know the RHD/LHD mounts were different! Does it shift the engine to the side or tilt it?

It tilts it as far as I am aware.I would say that the amount you are talking about wont make any difference at all.

Our F20C is cranked over further than standard, don't anticipate any issues really.
Completely missed this post!
You raise a very valid point about the body roll!

It's that time of the night again and this time I've worked out that my sump that I've made has at bare minimum 2.5L extra capacity! Boom!

Also I've noticed my "air/fuel ratio gauge" has f@#king lambda ratio printed on the black face and a different scale of numbers to the white face which has air/fuel ratio printed on it.
I want to use the black face because it's black. But that means having lambda ratio instead, I'm assuming it's "the same" just different numbers?

eh ..

Well, sort of, lambda = 1 is an AF/R of 14.7, so you can work out where you want to be easily enough.
To be honest, I find Lamda reading gauges easier to check at a glance anyway, as you know about 0.8 will make best power, 0.9 is about the leanest you'll want at full throttle, 1.0 is spot on for idle and anything more than that is running lean.
Saves glancing at the gauge and trying to work out if it says 14.7 or 14.1 when the sun's on it

No further with the wiring.
A friend from my local car club has agreed to help on his next 4 off (currently half way through his 10 so I've got about a week and a half to wait)
I'm tempted to change over the plugs myself and leave him with the battery, starter and alternator to deal with.
Should speed up the progress.

This Sunday I'll have the car back in my workshop to try and finish all the mechanical jobs, then I'll clean and polish it. Reason being is there are a couple of car shows in august where I want to enter top 25 and thus I need to submit an entry with spec list and pics.
Most likely won't win due to the bodywork requiring some attention, might whack some temporary stickers on to hide some bits! Haha
Also I want to try tidy some areas up as I cheekily asked tegiwa if I could get onto their show stand at japfest2 to which they agreed! It'll be nice to see luke again and show him the car!
(Bought a load of parts from him, only used a few like rear end of the exhaust and differential speedo mount, currently got his old engine mounts but you should be aware I've made some new sleeker ones)

It's a busy august for me provided the car is ready
1st-3rd USC
10th Humber car show (top 25)
17th japfest2
24th hull motor show (top 25)

I've ruined 2 sets of my 10 off (I work shifts) to get these dates off so the car HAS to be ready!
