On a bit of a roll at the minute!

Found a machine shop "local" to me 40 minutes away in hull that do personal jobs not just commercial!
Whoo!!
There is also a shop who is closer to me in humberston though they're terrible at answering the phone which is a big turn off.
I'll compare quotes from both places and decide then.
Those replica diff mounts could be done sooner than I thought!

Found a place in Boston (lincolnshire, not the states:P) who can shorten my propshaft and hopefully drive shafts (he wont say until he has them but is optimistic that it's doable).

WINNER!

Standby for Christmas porject!
I'll probably start a new thread for it.

It's not much to look at now that it's on and it upsets me a little that myself and the people who have an understanding of the time and effort that I've put into that one piece are the only ones who will truly appreciate the function of this now mundane looking part :/

At least the intake looks snazzy!!

It's to space the throttle body away from the charger inlet as there is an 11mm difference in the opening and the brass throttle valve was slightly fouling on the charger inlet.
The spacer has a bevel if you will. Machined into it at a 28.8deg angle to nicely reduce the bore size from the 102mm TB to the 91mm charger.
It also makes the brass clear the charger inlet

And it's black ..

UNEXPECTED UPDATE!
Got in around 15 minutes ago with zero drift prep done for the morning!
Finished work at 7pm and towed the car from my work back to my friend's garage to use the ramps for ease of wiring.
Then out of the blue two of my electrically biased friends turned up and talked me into starting the wiring!
5 hours later and the progress that had been made and the understanding gained is immense!
They completely reduced the S2 engine loom to the absolute bare minimum that I had picked out that I needed and tidied it up back to (and slightly further) the bulkhead. Looks neat! A lot neater than what I was going to leave it as.
Talked one guy through how the speedo was now going to be obtained via a pick up wheel between the prop and diff using a honda VSS.
Whilst he extended the wires after asking me the preferred cable routing to which he agreed was the best option I stripped down parts of the Ls2 loom to replace the omex loom (cam, crank, iat, oil pressure, reverse switch)

He also taped up the wires with loom tape. He's done a sterling job so far and is eager to work on the car more which is bonus!
Kinda wish I wasn't busy this weekend so I could do more with him as we were on a real roll!

Dare I say it? .... The car may be cranking over by the end of next week!

One issue though, no plug for the alternator, the guy I bought the engine from swears down that he gave me one, whether he did or not is not what bothers me. What bothers me is that I do not currently have one in my hands and I need one. I don't want to be told that I've been given one already, I want to have one in my hands so send me one! Anyway ... Picture time:

VSS and pick up wheel on the diff

Pictures taken my the missus who brought us dominoes pizza (I paid though )

Had a real good night and pleased with the progress made.

That's the engineer's lot, I'm afraid; the ill-informed dismiss it as it's beyond their comprehension, yet will be in awe of a Doctor of Philosophy or something else equally futile.

Is it a standard AC Delco plug you could pinch from a scrapped Rectum, or something else as depressing?
