Gopro with a mount stuck on the secret compartment works well also.

 

If you have a Android phone with a half decent camera, the free app, DailyRoads Voyager is pretty good. It does have the odd hiccup and needs to be restrted but its not a regular occurance. I use it daily. Needs a fair bit of memory though if you want to retain several hours of video ( I have a 32Gb card). All you need is a decent window mount the will allow the camera to face outward without the mount interfering with the veiw. I have one of the flexible mounts and to be honest I would avoid this as they cause too much movement in the phone as you drive.

 

Remember if you want to use it on track it has to be a fixed mount instead of a window one nowadays
