Default Car Alarm

I went out to my car this morning (UK MY04), opened the boot using the remote and then pressed the disarm button before opening the car door.

The alarm went off with hazzards and then stopped and then started again, this went on for about 10 mins, I was able to lock and unlock the doors using the remote and even start the engine with the key. Seemingly arming and disarming using the remote made no difference.

I then fetched the spare keys and with these the alarm disarmed first time.

It is the standard alarm and wondered if anyone had any ideas what may have caused this ? First time I have had any problems !

Cheers

Might sound stupid (probably is) but I'm sure I remember something about the batteries going in the fob

Hello mate, I had the same problem with my alarm. If the key fob batteries are changed and it still plays up, give your battery a charge as this cured my alarm woes straight away and have'nt had the problem since. Good luck.
