You soaked your speedo converter. Its a resistor in a box which converts the pulses from the gearbox from KPH to MPH.

Underneath the gearbox is the connector which feeds the speedo. This will have been cut and the converter will have been fitted there. (At least that's where mine is).

If the resistor fails, the speedo drops to zero and the EPS light comes on shortly after. This then triggers the CEL.

If you read it the code will be P0050 (Vehicle speed sensor).

If the speedo is ok now - disconnect the battery for a few hours and then take the car for a good run.

Hope its sorted soon
Perfick! Just what I wanted to hear.

Cheers.

If yours is a JDM then you will have a speedo convertor from the gearbox to the ECU / dash.

It may be more likely this has got wet or dislodged itself somehow.

Dembo will be able to show you where it lives.

I'm not convinced you will have got the fuses wet under the bonnet but its definately possible!

Here's hoping the enigne didn't ake a drink

I saw what you said. And I took heed of what Dembo said.

I just wasn't sure of exactly what I needed to do. Shipley confirmed that it's just an ECU reset so that's what I'm gonna do.

Thank you all for your input. Even the sarcastic piss-taking ones.

Nice new avatar,it's almost as if you selected it based on praise from your fellow board member's and friends. And it has now somehow given a sense of pride in your newly found photo taking prowess.Excellent, much better than making paper snakes.

Actually, the main reason I chose it is because I couldn't be arsed trying to find my old avatar.
Thanks though.
