Default Could be better but could have been worse

As the title says I had my house broken into while I was away and both sets of keys for my S where found and taken (I know I should have taken a set of keys with)

Luckily they did not take the car as it was inthe garage . But the big problem know is getting the car to Honda for a new lock set as the car is locked and alarmed ?

Honda have provided me with a key to unlock the car and allow me to stear it but I cannot start it are deactivate the alarm.

The AA are coming to flat bed it to Honda with the alarm going of great fun

I don't know if you will need a new lock set - I think a dealer can "program keys out of the immobiliser" and that should take care of anybody starting your car with the old keys. When I bought my car one of the keys was missing and this is what I did (nobodys nicked it in 3+ years ).

EDIT: assuiming you have the "key tab" and can get a new key cut

Horrible news

Hopefully they can just reprogram a new set of keys for you.

Don't have any of the fobs for the alarm , they did mention they could reprogramme to save having a new lock set but as the F@ckers have my car keys and know where I live would prefer they couldn't even open the car.

At least the car hasn't gone. You can probably claim off your house insurance for the fix.

Best of luck

Stupid question but you don't live in/near Reading?

I ask because there is a local gang breaking into 30-40 houses an night and stealing car keys. They then help themselves to your car later that night, once you've gone back to bed. The local police are far to busy nicking speeding motorists to be ar$ed to do anything about it. Which is just typical, of Thames Valley Police.

A friend of my Dad's had his keys to his Lexus stolen the other evening, and Lexus charged him 2k to replace all the locks on his car. They had to wake up their neighbours in the middle of the night to get them to block his cars in, in case they came back for his cars later on.
