Yep.

Look up Geniscan GS300 on Ebay

It will tell you your fauld code, and what it is, and also allow you to reset the CEL light.

Not a diagnosis machine like Honda's - ie won't show you voltages and stuff.

There was another thread like this recently. I advised a chap to get his own CEL code and to help diagnose it. He went to Honda, got charged and then told him he needed a new throttle body due to the sensor.

The TB and sensor does come in one unit, and is expensive.

It can be cought new from the states for just over

Yes you want to know how they diagnosed it was the TPS.

You wan't to know what the voltages were to cause the fault, and what they are now.

This tells them you are interested, and makes them earn their corn. Remember you have paid them good money to tell you this, so it's in your interest that they get it right. If they are guessing (which ofen happens) then the problem will come back, and you have ammo not to pay them.

If they are bluffing, I will know

Sotty if this sounds like I havew a chip on my shoulder regarding dealers, but I do

I'ts not a seriou fault.
