Default Engine mounts

Im just aligning my MY03 S2K after a light front impact.

The OS engine mount was split so i have replaced that...

BUT... theres like a rubber block infront of the sump, it looks
as if its sole purpose is to stop the engine jolting forwards?

This rubber does not fix to the sump but does touch it..

Should there be a gap??? Or is it like that???

Can someone have a butchers at theirs and see if it touches or not??

Im worried tha something is out of line

Thanks in advance

I was gonna take sum, my battery on my cam was dead

I havent even seen this issue myself yet, the bodyshop called me
earlier with his concerns, I will pop over 2moro am and take a pic...

Seems odd that this block should be touching as it would wear away?

Could be and hopefully is right tho.

Just hope its not the subframe thats skidded along on chassis...

It is on the jig at the mo and is spot on, its having 4 wheel alignment
and castor camber settings done in the morning, this will find any
alignment faults.

Fingers crossed.

Sorted...

There should be a 5mm gap between the sump and the snubber which protects the lower x-member.

My OS engine mount had broken causing the engine to move forwards.
