Flashed!!!!
Well, grasping large pieces of every type of wood imaginable, and with things I didnt think were crossable, crossed, it is now 3 weeks to the day since the evil grey ba$tard flashed me - and as yet (I barely dare type it) the postman hasn't delivered anything nastier than double glazing junk mail (pretty nasy, I grant you!)..............

Promising! Glad you have printed an update was going to email you to find out if anything had come of it. Still got fingers crossed, not sure what the longest anyone has had to wait for one of these is?

A Notice Of Intended Prosecution (NIP) is required by law to be served on anyone within 14 days of of the offence for a number of offences including Exceeding The Speed Limit. If the notice is not served within that period you cannot be prosecuted for the offence, unless by your own conduct you have hampered the service of it!!
That has always been the case. If the situation has changed it has done so in the last 5 or 6 years. I don't see as many of the 'Old Bill' as I used to but I'll try to find out.
My guess at the moment is ...nothing in 14 days forget it. You would normally get the NIP within the 14 days to protect the prosecution. The actual summons could take yonks after that.
In the case of a Fixed Penaly Ticket my guess is it would also contain the NIP notice. That way if you say Bollox to paying the ticket the NIP has still been served and you can still be summonsed for the offence.
