Default Flywheel options

I have an Exedy clutch I will be fitting in a few weeks.

Whilst Im at it I was considering a new flywheel. Any experience with one? I wounder how much difference they would make on the car, I can imagine it would make it even harder to launch without bogging down but the lower mass will help acceleration.

Just dont want to affect the idle too much.

Any thoughts/opinions/experience would be great.

Thanks

You ither need a new flywheel, or you have to take yours of to get resurfaced. New flywheel is easier if your fitting yourself as there is no delay.

I put the lightweight Spoon flywheel on mine. Havent noticed it to be any more difficult to launch, nor have I noticed that it revs any faster to be honest.

4.2Kg (Spoon) vs 6.9Kg's (OEM). I only replaced mine as I toasted the clutch so thought while I am there!!

With both comments.

And it's not just the fact it's "lighter", it's the rotational mass that is changed.
