I think it does possibly sound like early spun bearing. I think the rebuild issues are mostly when rebore/re-sleeving is needed so you might get away with a regrind and oversize bearings. I've heard Banda Engineering are pretty good at regrinds, but never used them myself.

Thanks for that will have a look over the next couple of days. I have used Banda before for something similar so will keep my fingers crossed and up date when I have news.

it is funny though as I have driven it a bit and has not got any worse.
Initially thought it was valve clearances or valve retainers.
Had the cam cover off and all looked well.
But will check clearances if there is no sign of bearing issues.
Yer when I drained the oil I have seen no debris or metal flakes? I will filter it and see if there is any fine stuff.

Is there anything else it could be? I read something about vtec filter.?

Pull the VTEC solenoid off too. When my engine spun a bearing the metal gauze was full of metal fillings.

I will even supply the hat!
All will be revealed on Thursday.
Checked the oil earlier no big bits of metal but there is a nice metallic sheen to it.
