I wouldn't recommend toe out at the front for a newbie, but I would ask for more toe-in at the rear, as it makes the car more stable and less prone to dumping you into a hedge.

By all means reduce it as you become a driving god.

Well, he was complaining at an unresponsive front end. I'm not going to hold his hand, but i'll certainly tell him how to get what he wants from his car.

What LG says is spot on though. As long as you aren't a fool, you'll be fine

Hi, so how much toe in at the rear would you suggest me asking for to give a more stable feel?

The max recommended on the readout is 12' per side, so try that. On my MY02 I've had 30' each side for most of my ownership but the setups are different. It will mean a bit more tyre wear, just so you're aware.

From the Before readings, looks like your car was set up as standard, but had taken a little knock on the rear near side which has thrown that out, so good call getting it checked.

They have done a good job with the set up, nice and symetrical. Not sure why the Alignment machine is asking for those rear toe ranges, for your 2009, 10mins a side, 20mins total rear toe is the target, but loads of people run more as the earlier cars had 40mins as the target total toe. However I personnely wouldn't go back there just to add a few minutes per side, i doubt you'd notice that.

I don't think you had any toe out on the front to begin with, just too much toe-in, I think Ron (Ultra_Nexus) has misread the red as negative rather than just outside range - zero is the target.

You've not said what your experience is of rear wheel drive cars or your diving experience in general, or what you are going to use the car for so its hard for people to comment on what might be preferable.

I would leave it as it is for a while, get used to the car and in particalur the passive rear wheel steer. The change in direction on throttle change mid corner can feel like its unstable. Think about changes later if you need them.

Hi

experience of other rwd cars, I had a Vx220 for 2 years prior to this so I have a fair idea of the way a lightweight rwd car handles.

I will be using the car mainly for road with perhaps a couple of track days, nothing too serious.

so going back to the geo, do you think I should go back and ask them to readjust anything???

is there anything I should change to give the car more stability?

Cheers

Don't bother with Abp Tom. I used them for the S and it handled worse than when I took it in, they charged me £100 for it. I then took it to CG and Chris said there was no way they adjusted the geo properly as some of the bolts were seized.

Book it into CG mate, its well worth the trip down. I will be booking mine in when I get back to the uk for a check up.
