Default Headunit Looking at this

Will this fit in the S2k?

Does anyone know if the controls by the dash would work with this head unit? Can you get the controls to work with most headunits?

Not sure it'd work with the dash controls straight out of the box - but Modifry's DCI is compatible with this one according to Bob's website:

Modifry compatibility

does the avx44 work with the security door though?

i had an AVX1, and had to sell it because the face was slightly too protruded vs regular HU's and rendered the security door unable to close.
so i sold and got pioneer

You have a lot of space behind the HU.
My Blaupunkt has massive dials and wouldnt fit behind the door on the original mounts.
What I did was re-use the two angle brackets off the Honda HU and screw them onto the HU sides but on different holes.
As the front is supported there is no movement.
I had to shave the back of the bezzle slightly with a dremel to get a snug fit but it can be done.
Just take you time with it.

I have fitted a JVC AVX-11 which is the same size as this.

I have used the autoleads adapters to link in the dash controls.

It all fits, and it all works (although the security door is a tight fit, but it does close).

Just remember to attach the handbrake wire to an earth point to get the screen working
