I had an EP3 Type R that done it when stock and after tuning. My friends EP3 and another friends DC5 also did the same.
It might not be common to all Honda's but it's certainly common to the K20 engine so wouldn't suprise me if it's also common on the F20C given the similarities.

the induction kit seems to amplify it, it is normal at part throttle at a certain point as the others have said. My ek9 did it with both b16 and b18 engines and my mates dc5 and dc2 both did/do it....

Interesting! I had 2 EP3s usually with a kit of some sort attached & exhaust - I can only remember the comptech and it never made that noise - good gains on the rollers vs k&n
