Had 2 cars insured with the NCB mirrored by having the S as a classic (limited mileage) policy and the other as a main car. Depends on your mileage situtation sometimes 5k a year is not enough - if you use a broker ask them as they will be able to advise also and I got better rates using them rather than on-line quotes.

I have two cars insured on two different policies on two different companies.
My S with Chris Knot has me real NCB on it giving me a decent discount.

My Surf is with another company (Highway I think) and they mirror the no claims bonus. They will mirror the no claims at maximum no claims while my 2nd car no claims builds up in the background.

I actually found several companies that would mirror my NCB on a different car on a different policy.

edit -
From a legal and technical point of view I’m not sure the second companies treat it as an NCB rather they just offer a ‘discount’ based on driving experience – and that discount just happens to be equivalent to what my NCB would be.
