Just a couple of quick questions?? popping out of gear and cutting out when cold?
I have a slight problem with my s2000 one of which I can understand and the other not sure if it is a fault. Firstly when I reverse sometime I hear a massive "clonk" thinking ive hit something but its just popped out of reverse!?!? anyone come across this? Also when the engine is dead cold it will cut out at 6/7k RPM, is this normal? I would expect this as a safety feature from honda

The latter is perfectly normal - the engine won't let the VTEC cams engage until it is warmed up. Ideally, you should be doing 5 miles or so before you try to take it above 6,000 rpm.

Rev limiter kicks in to stop V-tec before the engine is warm. Advice normally given is not to V-tec for the first 4 miles to allow oil + tyres to warm up.
Popping out of reverse? get it looked at

Agree with MT and Dave on the rev limiter.
Never known my car to pop out of gear, backwards or forwards.
Sounds like a fault to me. Unless you are running over the cat or similar. That might do it.

I think i will get it looked at, its not really causing a big issue. its when i reverse up a slope or slightly quicker than usual, i have a feeling it happens if im not smooth with the clutch. thanks for the replys

Normally the clicking when reversing is the brake adjusters.
Popping out of gear doesn't sound like a good think though!
May be the gear isn't actually engaged and it is driving on the synchro. Too much torque demand would probably give the the sensation you are describing if the synchro teeth haven't fully aligned and then slip.
