What about wedging in the clutch pedal? I had an MGB where the clutch seized to the flywheel after standing for a while.

7 months with a full tank? I'd want the tank drained ... i don't fancy starting a car on 7 month old petrol!

Why not entrust the car to someone who won't rag it.
And they will -once a week - drive the car 30 miles or so.
Keeps everything moving.

If you do decide to leave it, don't shell out for 97/99 RON fuel beforehand, save yourself a bit of dough and put regular 95 in there as the octane will reduce over time.

Yes, agreed on cheap tyres but not sure about stands.
If that thing is on the street I wouldnt want it left on stands anywhere in the country.
The OP states clearly that his car is going to be on a drive on an incline!
Its the buildup of water inside cavities and drains in the body that's a longer term problem, especially parking on a hill.
If you cant get another to use it, then clean/wax and cover it I guess.
Leave the windows open a little so it can breath.
I always drive a car after washing it - you see how much water pours out of the scuttle, sill, doorskin and and hood drains ?!!
Mechanically, make sure the car is bone dry and ideally freshly driven before covering - no rust on brake discs or suspension bushes from washing.
Chock the wheels and leave in first gear, do NOT apply the handbrake.
The fuel will be fine, but I would do an oil change before leaving it and just a short run after.
Overinflate the tyres a bit, they will go down.
Very old engine oil is full of moisture and crud that 'can' cause slight corrosion to engine internal parts if left stewing for months.

I'm in the same boat here, i'm deploying for 7 months in 7 days.
I've managed to rent a garage for 40 pounds a month rather than leaving it outside, worth it IMO.
Check your local paper for adverts.
