I didn't find my RE050s too bad previously, which was why I sold my winter tyres to Beardie last year (they were bought for my MY02).

They now seem terrible - only just made it out of my estate yesterday - small inclines at junctions where you have to come to a complete stop.

5 minutes of wheel spinning, side ways stuff

Think I will looking for winter tyres again now - meantime, I have bought 50kg of road salt and now just need a shovel
You're making me feel guilty.

They've been an absolute godsend this week though. Aberdeen has been absolutely mental with ice and snow and, while other cars have been getting stuck or standing still while they're wheels just spin, I've been quite happily driving round all the 4x4's.

I did get a bit cocky today and parked on a hill in 6 inches of snow. It seems the tyres do have limits and had to get pushed out.

That's what's happening at the moment.

Think I'll get me some studded tyres like the Scando Rally jobbies.
