Problems at cold start !
Guys .after getting an EPS light last week and shitting myself on repair bills...or even diagnosis costs I thought I would have a look into the DIY code removal tools available and from other threads i got a lead for a German company for the OBD2 lead and downloaded the free software and it works fine with the car ...It will save alot of hassle with codes in the future...The info is out there on the search tab but your looking for scantool free software to put on your laptop....pda compatible prorams are out there too for a small price ...if I find a free version compatible with Windows mobile 5 i will let you know ..anyone already done this?
just done it yes.
tonight infact
Not windows mobile though.
I just bought a piece if software called PCMSCAN
it looks very indepth and does Min Max Average , logging etc.
I tried the following software and found:
"Scanmaster" which i could not get to log and it didnt update
its values in real time I had to keep hitting the read button.
I tried "Scantool" also this was ok but didnt give me logging and
it was a little basic was free though.
"Diagnose" tried it is free and provided logging seemed pretty good.
The log files seemed to be in CSV format which you could use with excel
for analysis.
"Digimoto" tried this also. This program is very Fast and Furious like with its ray traced dials etc. Looks cool seems to work ok. Does have a logging facility
lacks min , max average type stats. Has some rather interesting features
that are supposed to measure your BHP and torque output + 0-60 and 1/4
mile times. Looks pretty but I prefered the PCM for its detailed stats etc.
Didnt get a chance to try those other fancy features.
Cheers,
S.
