Rattle, could it be valve adjusment?
Jumped in the S this morning to drive to work and noticed my Alpine stereo has had a hissy fit and decided not to produce any sound (DC ERROR which I think can be solved by a reset). I always drive with the stereo on and so this has probably masked the horrible rattly noise the engine is making and which I have only just noticed. The TCT was replaced about 1000 miles ago with a brand new one so it's not that, the engine is on 64k and has always been serviced regularly and fed with Castrol Edge. I've done a little search on YouTube and have found this video which is a perfect match for the diesel engine type noise that mine is currently making....

What do you guys think, valve adjustment?

It's been known to occur with many other members and new TCTs.
IIWU, change the oil if older than 4k miles and go from there.
It would be a bit premature to need to change the timing chain and guides (although no specific mileage exists for this)
Before anyone asks, no I'm not able to sandblast TCTs any more...sorry
