Worth asking since it was an unmarked car were they "in uniform". (As any lawyer will tell you this is a great phrase. Any bit of uniform missing, hat is favorite, and all bets are off.)

I would write and complain. If they follow you again even if they don't pull you complain about harrassment. Actually better to get your legal eagle to write.

They were uniformed, but no hat, IIRC. At least, the one that did the gobbing wasn't in headgear.

I was mildly peeved last night, but I'm rather fuming now I've posted about it. At least the afternoon off work should chill me out a bit.

Don't bother pursuing it, you'll end up with a PNC marker on the reg plate, which, with the comment about smelling spliffs it may well already have. S59's are a nasty invidious piece of legislation that the ECHR should look at rather than the useful stop & search.
Be careful for the duration of the S59, they will love to lift a car esp an S2K. Getting your car taken off you for accelerating or driving spiritedly within the law is a fookin joke. Bastard black rats are no better than the govt for implementing the law. After all its them the relish dishing the things out.

Plenty of advice on PH SP&TL forum.

Ed

Beat me to it, have a look on there, loads of coppers/solicitor types dying to give advice/opinion.

Hi Gritty,
This really concerning as I don't have the airbox on and am always givin it beans whenever I join the A19 around Teesside Have always been a bit concerned when joinin the A19 Southbound from Billy bottoms.

We'll see more of our friends on the N side of the Tees now as they have a sparkly new £5m HQ on Wynyard park and I quite often get to see their "quality" driving and Q cars, watch out for a white S-Max, and several Skoda Octavia vRSs along with the STs.

the more we put up with such sh*t the more it will happen

You simply have to write a complaint.
And demand the removal of any markers or endorsements immediately.
As Ed says this stupid arse legislation could lose a regular law abiding citizen his car.
Just because some arsehole copper want's to ruin your day.

DO NOT let it happen.

Steve.

Same here. It's what sliproads are for! IMO.

Thanks for the tip-offs anyway.

what do the Police say EVERY TIME you see a motorway or dc stop?

"Make sure you accelerate up to speed before rejoining the carriageway"

That's exactly what we were discussing at work. It's one of my pet hates - people not using the slip road for acceleration.
