I wonder if it's worth finding a Traffic cop and asking them what the law says about using a reasonable range of your engines ability on a public road as long as the speed is within limits.
We'll see if John57 arrives.

Just been reading the law again. It was clearly introduced to keep control of chavs (I'm 30% chav, does that count?) doing donuts in McDonald's car parks.

There is a forum about this sort of thing, frequented by traffic officers and a few legal types which I cannot currently recall (I know not very helpful) but if anyone can find it they are good for getting the traffic officers perspective about things like this.

you encountered a member of the bell-end percentage to be found in any group

I've no idea what it is - I guess somewhere between 1% and 10% unless you're at a football match, when it will be subdtantially higher

we had one of the Police variety on here a while back

fascinating psychological profile

shame nothing ran out in front of you - might have taught the twat a lesson

more and more people line up and share my experience of trafpol baiting/provocation/shocking driving/indefensible manners

yet it's always denied

Scott it might be worth just putting pen to paper and asking for a bit of clarity.

Bah! I hate paperwork.

I'll bring the warning notice into work tomorrow, and see if I can knock a letter together. I'm not doing it on my own time.

You can probably send them an email.

Back in the summer, I was pulled over (by a panda car) for driving at 30mph in a 30mph zone.

I emailed a complaint and ended up having a good telephone discussion with the local commander who was very apologetic and insisted that such a case as mine would be used in further training events as an example of how not to do it.

ACAB

Surely you can preess a S59 agains the cop for following you too closely and causing annoyance and distress.

It's nice to know that this country is so secure, with crime so low, that the rozzers can spend time with bullshit.

Maybe it was retrospectively applied for Subaru2000s driving on your NYorks meet last winter?
