In for a service

My dealer gives S2KUK discount and throws in a free MOT, so it's pretty reasonable.

It basically looks like an oil and oil filter change.... And a long list of things they will 'check'.
How much are they charging for the privilege?

I'm deliberating at the moment whether to book mine into Honda to retain its FHSH or to go to Performance Autoworks who I will know will do a proper job.
I don't suppose any Hereford(shire) based S2000 owners have used them? Or if not, who do you recommend?
I think I'll use Honda myself to maintain the history, PA went over my car with a fine tooth comb when they fitted the exhaust and did the Geo.
What's gutting is that I also asked PA to change the clutch fluid and gearbox oil as the gearchange was horrible (which cured it), but it's due on the upcoming service. Doh!

I haven't used them for anything other than getting parts for my old DC5, the service manager is a great bloke (if he's still there, name is Dave IIRC).

My gear change is much smoother now with new MTF in there, but it can still be a bit clunky/clinky/notchy. I will look at regreasing the bushes in the base of the shifting mechanism soon as that is supposedly a miracle cure too.
I am not so sure I'll use Steels for everything on the S, but certainly I'll look to maintain the FHSH and anything that I don't think a competent garage could do.
They seem decent there though. They could have quite easily told me it was the clutch or the box making a noise on decel, but they reckon it is a baffle in the exhaust.

Reason being you pay too much for too little..(£260-280) - How much you paid if you don't mind, me being nosey?
With 1/2 the money you can have a proper check and save the rest for parts-expendables..
PM me if you want a recommendation of where to take the car, next time

I wouldn't take it to Honda unless you want to sell it afterwards (so you can show the stamps in the service book)..

I still think it's worth maintaining the full Honda history. The value of these cars is only going one way and by having a full dealer history it will strengthen the chance of any sale IMO.

I don't totally agree with that to be honest. While I appreciate with some cars that full main dealer history is a good thing and even sometimes a deal breaker I think the S2000 isn't one of them. When I bought my car I saw it had been maintained by TGM for most of it's life and having done my research before buying I knew that they were a fairly highly regarded specialist. If you have ever been there and seen the amount of S2000's, integras etc. that are in the car park you certainly get the impression that he works on them regularly. I don't think you'll see another S2000 at a dealer in at the same time as yours.
Then again it will all come down to who arrives to buy it, if you get someone like me the honda history will be appreciated but not mean a great deal whereas if you get someone that isn't very knowledgeable about the cars they will be jumping for joy.

^^^^ I agree. I went to look at a tatty Civic Type-R today that had all the Honda stamps up to 70k but looked like shit. All it said to me was this person doesn't know how to maintain a car themselves so I doubt that they even checked the fluids or anything else between services.
I appreciate that is my bias and the H stamps mean a lot more to others. But stealer prices aware just crazy IMO.

A history is important, a well regarded indy is fine if theres one nearby
