The Mobil you were given is a semi-syn.

Once run in I would switch to a 5w-40 or 10w-40 fully synthetic.

That's also an option but there are also great European oils out there and you may save a few quid at the same time.

10w-30 will offer the F20 or F22C ALL the protection it needs. 10w-40 is not the proper oil for this car. Take a look on the oil cap, it says to use only 10w-30 motor oil. This car will run more effient with the 10w-30 verses heavier oils.

10w-30 is predominantly a US grade.

This is interchanged in Europe by 10w-40 or 5w-40.

The S2000 will run perfectly well on sae 40 and in fact it is recommended by all the databases that I use, Silkolene/Fuchs, Castrol, Motul, Olislager and Oats.

Here is an example:

Honda, S2000, S2000, 1999-
Manufacturer: Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan
Drive type: r.w.d.
Cilinder capacity: 1996 cc
Power output: 240 HP/176 kW at 8500 Rpm

Engine FC20C2, VTEC
Petrol, 4-stroke, 4 cilinder, V, 4 valves/cil., liquid cooled
Cilinder capacity: 1996 cc
Capacity: 4.8 liter
Filter capacity: 0.3 liter
Use: Normal
Change 15000 km/12 months

OEM recommendation
Above -20 API: SG SAE 10W-30 / 10w-40
year-round API: SG SAE 5W-40
Above -20 API: SH SAE 10W-30 / 10w-40
year-round API: SH SAE 5W-40
Above -20 API: SJ SAE 10W-30 / 10w-40
year-round API: SJ SAE 5W-40
Above -20 API: SL SAE 10W-30 / 10w-40
year-round API: SL SAE 5W-40

Under severe operating conditions: change every 7500 km or 6 months.

Total capacity: 5.6 l.

Transmission, manual, 6MT
Manual
Capacity: 1.48 liter
Gears forward: 6
Gears reverse: 1
Use: Normal
Check 60000 km/48 months
Change 120000 km/96 months

OEM recommendation
year-round Special gear oil, MTF 94 -

If Honda MTF-94 is not available, in emergency cases a motor oil API: SG or SH with viscosity 10W-30 or 10W-40 may be used. This can lead to a heavy gear change and excessive wear.

Under severe operating conditions: change every 60.000 km or 48 months.

Differential
Capacity: 0.74 liter
Use: Normal
Change 45000 km/36 months

OEM recommendation
Above -20 API: GL-5 SAE 90

Under severe operating conditions: change every 30000 km or 24 months.

Hydraulic brakes/clutch system
Use: Normal
Change 36 months

OEM recommendation
year-round Brake fluid, DOT 3 -
year-round Brake fluid, DOT 4 -

Cooling system
Capacity: 7.6 liter
Use: Normal
Change 75000 km/60 months

OEM recommendation
year-round Water with antifreeze (50%) -
