I made the dials myself using Racerender and you can add other dials like throttle position, gear, g-force, MAF, intake pressure, engine load etc etc.
I also now have a way of mounting the phone on my Modifry mount, so will capture better video without the screen mount (Samsung one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004ULZ6T0 )getting in the way.
- An Android Phone running 2.2 or higher
- aLapHD App (free or paid) from the Android Market £3.99
- A Bluetooth OBD2 scanner like this from Amazon - also widely available on Ebay £20
- Racerender software http://www.racerender.com £Free or £20 for the full deluxe version

I don't suppose you can help a bit with race render imorting can you? I'm not getting very far.
I did a data only recordering in the app on the phone. I've then exported the data, using the race render 2 option and I get a GPS, MRK and gmeter file.
I import the GPS file to race render and see a map of the route I took. I import the video and click play. However I don't get a dot on the map at all showing my location. Know what I'm doing wrong? Dooes the mrk file need using at all?
When I play back the recording on my phone it all works fine...
About to start pulling my hair out!!
Cheers
The RaceRender Export puts everything into one file, which should look something like this: aLap20110802_143731_RR2_20110804_151916.csv
and which has column heading as follows:
Time Gps Time Longitude Latitude Altitude X Y MPH Speed(m/s) Heading Lap RPM Gear Accuracy Vehicle Speed(MPH) Vehicle Speed(m/s) Throttle Position MAF Air Manifold Pressure Engine Load
Then you import that and off you go.

Can you have a look in this thread, as you have a newer car and will be able to confirm the ELM reader works ok?

All working now though. Many thanks!
Everything is easier with a mac! I am using Windows, that is probably the problem.
I had to install a virtual machine and a copy of windows just for race render on my mac. You've no idea how hard its been to get this all working! They are asking about a mac version of race render on their site, hopefully they will do it and I can go back to my mac happy place.
Although android is better than iOS

Finally finally finally got this all working! A little vid from last weekend with audio from the engine, and data logged from the ECU and GPS via alaprecorder, all merged together. For some reason the link to the ECU link goes down about half way through so the rev readout dies.
I'd been waiting all day to have a play with the Cayman S, finally he starts first and me second so we have a chance. He shoots off eager to prove he's the boss. First corner of the session there is a yellow flag?! Cold tyres and the muppet has gone straight off on the very first corner. LOL, priceless!
Not really any other cars to see, it was a novice day, and starting at the front no one managed to overtake : ) There weren't any serious car there any way, more focus RS's, ek9 type-r's etc, not your GT3s and all that, otherwise it obviously would have been a different story.
My last session of the day was quicker as it all really started to come together, but of course the camera had died by then. Well that my story and I'm sticking to it. Great track, I'll be back for sure!
First lap is a warm up, the others there is loads of room for improvement. Too much coasting and gentle braking at the end of the straights. I'd rather not kill the brakes though so take it a bit easy there. I can also get ont he power sooner I think and also a few turns I should be in a lower gear. The end of the back straight after the first turn I started to then jump to second for the right and that made a big difference I found.
