Default Wet Windows Inside

Hi all, major pita this one, wondering if any one else has the same problem and fixed it.

The inside of my windows have a layer of water on them, not the usual condensation, I could deal with that, this is actually wet. Cleaned the car today interior was bone dry, but after about an hour of being parked up the windscreen and rear window had already formed a layer of water. I've checked the carpets etc for dampness but none to be seen. Weird thing is the drivers door window seems to have little to no moisture on it. I did leave the car running with air con on full heated blast for about half an hour after I had cleaned it to make sure there was no moisture inside.

Anyone had the problem and got a fix for it? Any ideas what is causing it?? FYI there are no leaks into the cabin from anywhere obvious.

Hi mate, have a look under the boot carpet make sure water isn't collecting there that would cause your condensation on the inside. Also worth checking the window seals etc.

Hope this helps

Thanks man I have checked that already, nothing there, no water gets passed the window seals either, what's annoying is this doesn't look like the regular ''foggy'' condensation, looks like some one sprinkled a hose pipe on the inside of the glass yet nothing else is wet and it didn't seem to take long to form at all.

Mine was like it the other day and I had nearly a bucket full of water in the boot. I'm going to be pulling all my seals off when the weather gets a bit better and replacing the butyl foam tape that is meant to seal everything so hopefully I won't have the same problem next year.

Id use 2 things... Shin Etsu grease. Grease all rubbers over the car and then rice.... it may be that there is moisture getting in and the rice will help remove that and the grease should help keep things water tight.

I had a small leak where hard top met the windscreen ruuber shin etsu oclock then bingo no leak at all..... used the rice on the motor bike dash before to remove some moisture.

I suffer from obscene condensation.

Rice = Nope
Dehumidifiers = Nope

I find using a rag on the windows and rear screen works well, remove rag after it gets wet so it doesnt retain moisture in the car.

I also found that using some shinetsu grease (or similar) on the rubbers around the windows and soft top reduced the amount of water in the car, didnt cure it but has made a difference.

Pingi - absorbs moisture, when it's full, changes colour, microwave it, then re-use it. Can re-use again and again, and having a moisture indicator will let you know if it's getting better or worse.

Still investigate what is causing it. Is your roof getting porous in it's age/condition? Have you tried treating it?

When you say you've checked the boot, did you check the spare wheel section?
