Default What are my options ?

I currently have a Pioneer P88rs with the Ipod unit sending power to a set of Rockford Fosgate 6.5" Power coaxils.

It does everything I want a set of speakers to do except the low end.

What bass options are available to me ?

I really don't like the idea of a sub in the boot because:

A: My old car had no boot or back seats due to audio
B: Convertibles sound utterly poo with a sub in the boot
C: I cannot be bothered wiring it all up front to back.

What in cabin options do I have prefferably under the passenger seat ?

Everything I have come across AFAIK will not fit under the seats but will fit behind which I am not too keen on.

See my signature for a non-intrusive and easily removable sub - the system sounds fantastic.

There are some under seat options, see this thread though the sub in questin is no longer available https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=641256

Alternatively, there is the sub in the passenger footwell option.

Some good threads in the electronics forum on this, here's a recent one https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=841858

Getting some MY02+ doorcards and installing components and an amp would be a useful start in improving bass (as well as the overall sound).

To be honest I have heard a few convertibles and they sound good outside the car but inside its very non existant.

Hence my desire to go down the under seat route.

Passenger footwell is probably best as anything that goes under the seat isn't going to be good quality at all.

Boot based subs work very well in all the S2000s I've heard. They key is getting the front speakers right, and letting the sub fill in below the woofers, rather than using the sub to do the work that the woofers are supposed to do, which is the mistake most people make.

Where are you based, you're welcome to have a listen to mine if you like?

I am in Essex.

Wouldn't mind.

Even considering getting a 6-8" CDT in the passenger footwell.

I have a custom enclosure with an infinity sub in place of the tool tray, so I can still use the boot as a boot if required. I'm not an expert on these things, but with the Alpine HU and component speakers, it makes a nice sound in the car, especially with the roof up. It may help that my HU has the Imprint option, so it's been optimised to suit the car.

If you can, have a listen to Groova's set up, he know's his onions and is (sorry Simon but... in a good way ) incredibly anal about such things
