Has anyone in the UK fitted any of the xbraces etc. What improvement would I get on an '02? Have done searches and all the responses seem to be from the US but couldn't be sure if they were '01s or '02s.

I think I remembers seeing a cross brace on the picture Ian posted for Carper when he asked about a picture of the underside

Many thanks,

Derek.

I've a Spoon X-Brace on the car. Sharpens up the steering feel a little. I've also driven a car with both X-Brace and shock tower (we've shocks not struts...) brace. The addition of the shock tower brace does have an impact, particularly on bumpy roads, but it's far less than the X-Brace.

Thanks Brian,

Are sway bars worth getting? And what do they add if you have the cross brace etc?

Sorry for the stupid questions, but I was talking to Rick when he came over for his Norwich holiday and he got me interested.

I wouldn't change the anti-roll bars unless you're tracking the car and feel condfident in tuning the suspension setup to what you're after. (It's common to run a stiffer front anti-roll bar with 225 wide front tyres for the track).

The X-Brace is simply stopping some unwanted sub-frame flex - which is an undamped spring - and allowing the suspension to do it's job better.

if you notice in the boot of the car..it already has a bar fitted as standard.

I have fitted cusco aluminium tower bars front and back..replacing the honda one, the ride is now a bit less compliant..that has to be expected,.but steering feels sharper..perhaps too much!..I use my car mostly on twisty mountain roads so don't know the effect on high speed corners.
