car audio installer?
Anybody here do audio installing? I'm going to buy a new head and some components but I'm afraid to let BB or Circuity City touch my car. If not, could you guys recommend good installers? I might do the deck myself, seems easy enough. I'm not sure if I want to tackle the speakers in case there is any cutting required.

The head is very easy, the speakers are fairly easy if you plan to use the factory wiring, but the factory wiring is pretty thin and crappy.
It is a pain in the ass to run the speaker wire into the doors. That is by far the hardest part of the audio install on an S2000.
The stock speaker basket will need to be cut to install the new speakers. However, it is just plastic, and you remove it from the car to do the work. You can get new baskets from the board for VERY cheap if you should ever want to return to stock. IF the speakers you got don't fit in the speaker basket at all, then you can make an adapter out of MDF pretty easily. 3/4" MDF would give you almost perfect spacing for most speakers. (You trace the speaker basket onto the MDF, then trace the speaker pattern that came with the speakers into the middle of your first pattern. Cut it out and you are there.)
I can give you a hand with it.
I have also worked with two shops in the past. Markaudio on Roselle Road in Schaumburg and ....... I can't remember the name of the other shop, but it is on Irving Park rd in Streamwood, just West of Barrington rd.

I just re-wired all the speaker wiring in my Integra yesterday. It wasn't too difficult due to having all my interior panels stripped out of the car, however, I did do my headunit install on the S2000.
If you need a hand, let me know....we can get together and knock the headunit out in about 15 minutes. I can help snake new speaker wires through the door using the trick the installer used on my door speakers.
Let me know if you want a hand.
