Joe,

Nothing I have stated in this thread is about pro- or con- S2ki. This isn't an S2Ki thing that I'm talking about, taking argument with, or in reference to.

In one statement you call my opinions out to be callous and un-called for; that they were misunderstood and assumed. They have no foundation or backbone...yet right after that, you take my statements as a "blow below the belt"...

If there's no foundation for my opinions that you know of, why take it as a blow below the belt?

Joe, I think you're a great guy. Not to sound homo-ie, but I clicked with you that night Harry and I got to Petowski. My rule of tumb is, if I can sit and have a beer with you while holding a conversation, I'm cool with you. I had that beer with you within 10 minutes of getting to Petowski.

If I didn't think so, I wouldn't have invited you and your girl down for July 4th weekend. I'm done with discussing/debating this topic here. If you want to talk about FWT logistics past or future, we can talk. Call me. Otherwise, I have nothing further to write here.

I'm not saying anything about your critisism, just how you used it to retaliate against Joe and surprisingly insulting my business practices while at the same time triggering a domino effect in the UMW. IMO You have knowingly portrayed yourself as a "Leader" of sorts especially among the Chicago memebers. With that comes a higher responsibility than that shown in this thread.

Believe me, I am often very critical of things that Joe posts because of it's effects on my business. What he has said here seems to have been taken by you and used irresponsibly as if to hint to having your own agenda within these boards. You've taken it personal by NOW stating that you didn't feel special after Joe's post. Well, I have news for you, there will ALWAYS be a bigger and better event than the last. But to hear you say it, it's like saying that you won't buy a band's CD because thier next one might be better. That doesn't make sense to me. FWT is unique in it's own way, as are it's attendees both as individuals and as a whole. Nothing can take that away except for selfish attitudes about who is better than who.

No matter how you say "What I really meant earlier" now, it does not make your previous statements hold any more ground. I do greatly appreciate anyone who supports a cause, but I don't have respect for anyone who would use it for their own selfish reasonings. Again, I would appreciate it if you would edit your exaggerated post about being taken on the DVD. This statement, in any context, is irresponsible and false in claim!

Lee, Donnie...I'm sorry that you have waited until this to express your feelings about the Freshwater Tour DVD. Had you said something when asked I may have worked with you on some kind of ammends.

I can tell already that this is discussion will continue in a round-about fashion with one another constantly repeating themselves and/or attempting to dismantle what the other has written with personal interpretations...

but to quote one thing...
[QUOTE]Nothing I have stated in this thread is about pro- or con- S2ki.

What about me! I attended Fall Colors! I'm from the Midwest!

I also attended the Fresh Water Tour. Had a good time at both events. Fall Colors is in its 4th year & you can tell the differences from last year (which I also attended). Hopefully the FWT will improve also next year.

I'm looking forward to events in IN, IL, & WI.

Jeez - im away for a few hours and all hell breaks loose!

Joe - Not that I want to drag this out more - but to say that mine and Donnie's comments have no place in this thread is just BS. Just as you expressed your personal (and professional) opinion wrt the FC DVD vs the FWT DVD, I (we) merely agreed with you (to a degree). Just to clarify my statement - yes, I was less than enthused about the FWT DVD - and honestly, for as many people that came up to you praising it, im sure there's an equal amount that will sit quietly wishing it were better.

Joe, I reread your initial post and Urmil's and honestly I can kinda see where he is coming from. You hyped the FWT DVD so much - and that was probably your downfall as it (in my eyes) didnt meet the expectation that you had built up. Then to say your next DVD will be 100 times better (or whatever terminology you want to use), just diminishes the FWT DVD's value even more.

I still hold by my comment - it really wouldnt be hard to make a DVD better than the FWT one. Its not being negative, defamatory or trying to hurt your business. Both you and Jeff have both said exactly the same things just in different ways - you have both qualified my statement -

I also want to clarify that I am not unhappy with the FWT DVD to the point that I wanted a refund. There were aspects of the DVD which I think could have been improved upon - and if you check the feedback thread on the DVD you will find my comments regarding that also. So this isnt the first time I have voiced my opinion on the matter.

I wish both of you luck with the FC DVD. I surely would have purchased one if I had attended.

Im done.

Sorry Lee... and I happy that you better explained your stance- I was only offended by your method of expressing it in the first post... I felt as if you were simply trying to take a cheap shot. I still do not feel such a comment was necessary- despite your sentiments. To me, there was a time and place for "constructive criticism"... this was not it- this was just Me- fresh and hyped from a great event- venting my enthusiasm... So I did not see the need for someone to piss on my parade. I was not negative towards anyone, so why negativity back?

To me- When I'm really only trying to hype an "event", and note that the DVD will be better -- but IMO -- it all depends on what you are looking for and where your expectations lie- for those who would rather have more interaction/conversation/story-lines within a DVD- FCT will have it... for those who prefer an artistic approach, focusing on the car, the scenery and the music- the FWT DVD had it. They will be 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT formats... and being so- my comment was driven by the first being more favorable to general viewing audiences.

So lastly- they are both GREAT DVD's, but one will be more favorable to larger audiences then the other.... but this is all personal preference and each to its own...
