Default Hi

I`m new + potential s2k owner i just wanted to see if i can get some answers from illinois drivers.

1) I`ve read over and over winter tires are the way to go but which ones i`ve heard bridgestone blizzaks are the best.

2) I`m down to s2k or a 350z don`t know which way to go but i`m leaning pretty heavy for the s2k

3) Is the noise from the engine really loud ? I did test drive it for 5 min not on the highway so not to sure about it.

1) Blizzaks Put them on a spare set of wheels.

2) 350 what?

3) A stock S is not loud. Louder than a Camry, but not loud. An intake or exhaust changes all that, though.

4) .1 is not an acceptable ppd

1. Had blizzaks for 2 winters and they were great!
2. 350z = Fat Pigs
3. to what Dave said.
4. .1 PPD, guests or members shouldn't even be in the Windy City.

ll season tires in the winter time.
wwII era shovel in the trunk.
awareness of snow conditions/ddepth means that i have only had to dig out once and that was on a day when i was driving out for a midnight "snow day" with about 4 inches of snow in front of my car.

Moving to UMW.

She's kidding of course, everyone is welcome to post in Windy City, even those with REALLLY low PPD's, like Sam.

Since this is a general interest topic though, it goes in the main forum

1) Did a winter on blizzak's. Never got stuck (except that one time I went to a foot of snow in a parking lot to do donuts - hint: go in reverse to get out if your spinning tires). But consider this - set of new blizzaks plus used oem AP1 wheels ~$750. 1997 Saturn SL1 on craigslist - $700 and the possibility your insurance goes down, no rust, and possibly higher resale value.

2) Test drive both. And test drive it like you would drive it. To me, the 350z feels faster but the S2k feels better.

3) Loud is relative. Compared to a prius, yes, it's loud. Again, test drive.

Alternative to a test drive - show up to a meet and take a ride with someone.
