I had one, I LOVED it. I also had a CAI, and could EASILY reach the drain valve from the top.

Thanks for the advice everyone, and Almostlude, I may have to take you up on that offer, plus I really want to see your s2k, it looks sick! (plus you have a MULDER's mod on your headlights right? mmmm I want to do that so bad)
Come on down brotha... I'm happy to help you out and you can check out the mulderized headlights.

Might not want to come out today or tomorrow being that it is negative 300 degrees right now, but weekends work well for me. PM me.

Anyone have thoughts on the fumoto oil valve?
it's on a few of our customer's trucks and i HATE IT.

1) it collects dust/dirt and when you go to open t later it's full of gunk.

2) the hole is about 1/2" higher then factory hole so you don't get all the oil out. you have basically a 1/2" layer of oil still sitting in the pan.

3) it drains slower

4) one custeromer blew a motor because a rock (construction zone) kicked up and hit the lever just right and opened it just a bit and his oil leaked out.

i hate the fumoto valve, had it on my MY02 and it made oil change 2x longer because of drain speed.

I may have to change to dyno oil.. but i only drive 5k a year.. and i have a case of M1 synth from costco.. still.. haha.. oh well

5w-30 always.

Looks like Phong, Phil, and devilchrist (don't know your real name...does it start with a "Ph"?) saved me $30. No thanks to Pete

I find it easy enough to change the oil with a CAI but no oil valve. Any excuse to get out my socket wrench is a good one.

Pat, if the roads are a bit more clear this weekend, would it work for you to change my oil and bleed the brakes at the garage?

Someone lost thier oil? On the Dragon? Ouch, that musta sucked...

Actually, it was me! And it did suck. I had just installed a Fumoto valve two weeks ago, tightened it to the proper specs and all. About a third of the way through, down a long straight I heard something heavy bouncing under the car. Then pretty blue smoke At that point I didn't realize I was pouring oil, so I coasted the next pull off, dumping a line of oil into a sharp left hand turn. Opened the hood and saw my drain plug missing with the remaining oil streaming out. My wife went back to the straight to look for the plug and slow people down. I checked the car out for another minute and then went down to the corner to check it out. A biker had come through shortly after that, saw my wife, but didn't slow down in time. He set the bike down and went off into the brush, but thankfully he was ok. Meanwhile I'm putting dirt and leaves onto the oil to a) mark it and b) try to soak some up.

A lot of people stopped to help but Ron and Sheila (from Charlotte) came through with an extra drain bolt and spare oil. God bless those Charlottans! The car is fine, the biker was fine, but my nerves were shot. I hope I didn't ruin it for anyone else!

CN: Fumoto valve unspun itself on the Dragon, I put down a nice line of oil in a sharp corner, one bike down, rider unhurt, car is ok.

A huge thanks to Ron and Sheila, the people that stopped, Killboy for marking the area with chalk and cones, and Fumoto for almost killing my motor.

I've been running M1 in my S, I wonder if that is part of the reason for "ticking" sound I have at idle?

I'll try Castrol when the car comes out of hibernation, I used to always use it in my previous cars.

Could be the solid lifters. Most noticable when I start the car up in the garage.
