It's already segmented as it is, and precisely why I suggested adding the following sections:

UMW (1 mod to enforce)
--> Member Intro
--> FS/WTB/Swap
--> Interest Thread
--> Official Meets thread (mod + CO's to organize)
--> General discussion
This doesn't make sense to me...adding more to reduce segmentation?

Also, why is Official Meets thread limited to just Mod or CO? Also I don't think any Mod should be tampering with the Community schedule. A CO, in my opinion (and mentioned in my earlier post), has a better pulse on their Community and is much better suited to make decisions when it impacts their area. A Moderator is more involved in the main S2000 Forums.

Ooops. How embarrassing. I didn't know that everyone could close their own thread until this instant. My bad. I guess this changes my opinion in large part. In that case, what you do with your own thread is your own business.

My ignorance led me to believe there was an element of unfairness that perhaps never existed. I'm sorry for that.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough - you quoted half of my message, and if you read the rest, you'll see that I was referring to geographic segmentation. We need clarify what defines an "Official" meet to "unofficial." I think official meets should be large gatherings that are well orchestrated for special events. On the other hand, all members should have the right to post unofficial meets which are smaller gatherings, but I feel the official meets should be organized by CO's, since it should be their responsibility to bring members together and they're most likely to know more members than anyone else. You can scratch my suggestion about adding the Mod to assist community events; I merely suggested that on the notion that moderators have a good pulse of the group despite the title.

I don't care for the official/unofficial meet classifications. We tried that once and it caused a lot of divisiveness.

Let's just have meets, regardless of who plans it. Just post it up, and the people that can make it will.

Agreed. I don't think the Official/Unofficial title is necessary. Post an event, and people that want to attend will attend. I don't think who posts the event or the size of the event should determine the status of the event.

Any meet that is organized on this forum is an official meet, no matter who starts/organizes it.

A suggestion has been put on the table by the members of the community and you've negated it. Yes the 'official/unofficial' has been tried before...the only folks that were divisive about it were you and Team Shocker.

Again, someone is suggesting some change, and you're being negative about it. Let some change happen and see if it sticks.

It's not good enough for you when a CO picks a direction and now it's not good enough when a couple of members pick a direction with a suggestion.
