Trunk lid lock question
Now since the original question has been answered by numerous handsome dudes, can we get to the bottom of why "key fob" as I understand it to be called has been called "key fod" as well as "kep fop" by previously mentioned good looking cats?
I feel as we are just playing rotate the stick around the circle.

Let's get it right. FROM WIKIPEDIA
A key fob is a generally decorative and at times useful item many people often carry with their keys, on a ring or a chain, for ease of tactile identification, to provide a better grip, or to make a personal statement. Key fobs are often called "key rings" or "key chains" in colloquial usage. The word fob may be linked to the low German dialect for the word Fuppe, meaning "pocket", however, the real origin of the word is unknown.

I don't agree that fob doesn't apply, though. Fob is used as technical jargon both in this context as well as others; security or RSA fob is another.
Can't speak for fod or fop, though.
