Default 17x9 +63 w/ 275/40 A6 Hoosiers for the front?

Sorry for the noob question... but will 275/40 A6 Hoosiers fit on the front when lowered?

- Im lowered about 1.75" from stock.
- Currently, I run 17x9 +45 and 255/40 w/ no issues.
- Calculations show 28 mm (1.1'') closer to suspension/brakes components (compared to 255/40 17x9).
- The tires will be mounted on 17x9 +63 wheels.

Im thinking of getting 275/40 A6 all around for autox & run my current wheels w/ Toyo RA-1 for track.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!!

From what I've read/gathered the front will rub the inner fender well near full lock. You should also, if you have not already done it reinforce the frame where the front Upper Control Arm mounts are. Using that sticky and that large of a tire can/will lead to cracked welds and unwanted flex.

aside from possible frame rub, and possible control arm rub at full lock. .

and assuming your fenders are rolled already which would be why you have no issues with +45/255's on front. .

you should be ok.

as others have said, you will probably hit the arms and the frame in front.

check out the threads on the 949racing 6ulr rims in the racing forum. there are lots of comments about fitment with 255 and 275 tires.

fyi, i run 255 in front, but i use the 275x40 in rear on +52 10" rims, and have lowered the car until the tire is about level with the fender opening. the rear hits the bolt holding the fender to the frame at the back. i moved the bolt lower this weekend, and it seems okay. also, the bumper is shaved off a lot by the tire. and i don't think you can go any lower than what i have, else the tire will start hitting the outside of the frame, holding the bumper on. so.... lots more problems cause the tire is taller than oem.

Thanks for the response. I guess I'll get extended wheel studs & run a small spacer to prevent hitting the control arm.

You can run a 3pm spacer with stock studs. That should give you the necessary clearance for the a-arm
