What's wrong with getting these for the stock ap1 rims? Aren't they still some of the best tires for that size?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with these for AP1 wheels.

You have been warned. Ask any of the many people I showed these to before I mounted, they all agree they are flimsy. One passenger even noticed the ride without being prompted.

so because a tire feels flimsy to the touch UNMOUNTED, that equates to poor ride quality?

Well the issue here is I'm not expecting 225/50/16 star specs to feel like 255/45/17 in the rear. As long as these in stock ap1 sizes will compare well with OTHER tires in the same size, I'm good.

i would not expect the same sidewall firmness/ steering response when jumping to a smaller wheel/larger sidewall also.

Haha I don't think I'll have that problem, as I've always been on my stockie 16s. Cheers!

trying to decide if i should get these, the Dunlop Sport Max TT, or the Continental DW tire (Max Performance Summer) for my AP1 stock rims. price is about the same for a set (plus or minus a few dollars). i have been looking at all reviews for a while (currently running Goodyear GSD3 tires). i am running a basically the UK alignment (-1º, -2º camber, .24º total real toe) with less toe for better tire wear and tire life is a priority along with grip/handling.

I imagine the Continentals will last a significantly longer amount of time than the Dunlops, but the Dunlops will easily out grip the Continentals.
