Yeah, I like more feel and quicker direct predictable transition, and I crave that sweet sweet ability to precisely control the rear end on bald S02s via throttle and steering

Who needs grip when you've got giggles at your fingertips?

Get what you want for track beatings, pay no attention to my ramblings on these intarwebz. If you want to continue to enjoy the precision that the S2000 engineers intended, take heed of my mistaken purchase.

Its been one and a half seasons and my fronts are almost done. Here is a comparison of them next to some non-spirited driven S02s. They are wearing evenly on stock alignment, but I think I won't get two full summer seasons out of them, granted I don't actually know anyone else who is as rough on them as I am...

+1 for being awesome in the wet. We got hit with a bad storm in NY recently and I was driving the S with these tires on. I never felt so secure in the rain with any other tire before.

My Expierence with the Star Specs on Stock AP1's is that they grip insanely well, much better than every other Tire I have tried but Being how My broth owns a s2000 with the same everything, I do notice how much body roll and it is very frustrating at times. I remember when I bought the car how much I fell in love with everything, literally everyhting about it. These Star Specs give more than I would like which makes for handling feel sub-par as some would say. The plus side is I pull much better lap times in my car than his with Hankook S2's and every other tire He has had on.
All in all, I would say great buy. I have gonme through 3 sets and will be putting on my fourth set in months.

Question for all whom have tried the tires. What Tire pressure do you use for street use (Cold)
I personally run 37psi F and 36psi R to decrease body roll. Dropem to 33 for track days

I also have an ap1. I use 32f/33r for everything. Gives me the best wear.

And yeah, star specs are a level above rs2s. I had rs2s before.

Tire pressure will not decrease body roll.
Well in theory it could, if you are running too high a tire pressure, you are decreasing grip, which would then decrease body roll as grip has decreased.

More grip will mean more body roll.

Its more the feeling of the roll, the give in the sidewall that he is talking about. I run 41 in the fronts and 39 in the back to get a bit more response back in the front.

At 32, the sidewalls start to touch the ground on extreme driving. Trust me, I tested them in the parking lot immediately after they were installed.

Thank you for understanding. So at least I am not the only one experiencing this. My option is I will continue using these amazing street tires until another relatively equal priced tires comes out with stiffer side walls.

I have not tried anything over 40psi cold in fear of over inflation wearing or popping on the stock AP1 rims. is that what you have and is that cold PSI?

AP1 wheels on a AP2 with starspecs, like snow tires compared to starspecs and AP2 rims. Was not very happy with them. Nice breakaway, even wear, but tail happy. Run on HK 3s and the starspecs feel heavy and numb.
