Default just ordered new 18" tires.......

ordered a set of S0-2's from tirerack.....

F 225/40/18 Porsche OE (N1) S0-2's
R 265/35/18 Mercedes OE S0-2's

in the rear, i had to go to the benz OE b/c of the wider width of the Porsche OE.....i didn't want (potential) problems with rubbing......

jim advised that they should be fine....FWIW, he recommended the S0-2 over the P-Zero......i would have taken either.

Congrats on your tire selection TKG. I love my new setup as it is far stickier than the pirelli's The porsche s02's seem to have much larger voids in the rear and on my rainsoaked drive on the way back from the dragon i was hitting 75-80 mph and felt 100 percent solid (unlike the stock rubber) I wonder if mercedes rear tires will be as square shouldered? Also what was the measurement as far as width between the mercedes and porsche 265's?
Here are a few pics of mine on my new kinesis wheels

ccarnel,

here are the dimensions for 265/35/18 rear S0-2's:

Porsche OE sect. width = 11.1" tread width = 10.2"
MBZ OE sect. width = 10.4" tread width = 10.2"

so, my contact patch remains the same, but the out-to-out width of the tire is .7" narrower - every little bit helps. the MBZ tire is MORE square-shouldered (per jim) than the Porsche....
