Looking for new tires
I'm in the market for some replacement tires on my '04 S2000. this is my first set of tires after the factory ones, and was just curious as to what some of you guys thought about my options. Thanks in advance for any info, and if you guys have any other suggestions I'd appreciate it, although I'd like to keep the price under 200 for each tire.

Why not just replace them with OEM ones? the stock tires are good rubber. I would take into account how much inclement weather you have to drive in, unless your S is just a weekend plaything.

Do you drive the car in the snow? If not I would not do the all season tires unless you are looking for longer tread life. The A/S tires will not handle nearly as well as the OE tires. The Goodyear is not a real good tire in the 16" for the car. They are about 1.8" narrower than the OE tires on the car.
If I can help let me know.

I don't drive the car in the winter, and the RE050s are kind of expensive. I want the best handling tires for summer, but are also good in the wet. If the OE tires are the best then I guess I'll just go with those. I like the Goodyears the most as of right now, I have the '04 with 17s, will they still be narrower on the car? I like them because they are cheaper but seem to be just as good, if thats not the case fill me in.
Thanks a lot

According to the reviews on the Tire Rack site by S2000 owners, the F1s are not quite as good as the RE050s in the dry, but are substantially better in the rain. Which is better for you depends on your personal needs and driving habits.
The F1s are not that much cheaper than the RE050s - the Tire Rack sells the 050s for $165/$200 front/rear - within your price range - and the F1s for $139/$182. The F1s do have a much higher treadwear rating, and if that translates to real life, they might be a significant savings in the long run.
