Question for Jim and other eagle F1 users
What should the cold tire pressure be for Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires? My auto shop fills them to 40PSI but that is way to much and I can feel a reduction in handling. I'm currently running 32.5 all around but just want to make sure this isn't too little.
Thanks

Tire shops fill tires for mounting purposes. They should ALWAYS be checked and adjusted to the proper pressure before you go down the road. The "proper" pressure is stamped on the label on your door jamb. Tire pressures are dependent upon the car and NOT on the tire, however, you start with what's right for the car and adjust accordingly depending upon what you are trying to do with the car.

Well I never drove my S02s on the actual track so I can't really compare the goodyears to them. However I have proxes 4 for the winter time and they are wayyyyyyyyyyy better then them in all respects.
I recently went to an autoX with these tires. Great grip and when grip was lost they are suprisings very stable drifting -- a lot more then the SO2s were or the proxes. They are a bit stiffer ride compared to the proxes but not as stiff as the SO2s were.
They do get nice and sticky though. At the autoX, the top layer on the tire got so hot it was gooey -- it was great
In the wet they are even better. Rated at one of the (if not the) best Summer Only rain tires, you can really feel the added grip in the rain.
I'm running 225 front and 255 rear on 18s

My proxes are on my stock rims and my goodyears are on the Volks.
And no I do not rub at all but I am at stock height. Apparently, I can lower my car a little bit but more then an inch or so and I would rub.

xviper is on the money with the air pressure. It is based on the car and not the tires or size of the tires. A couple pounds more is never a bad idea for handling though.
