Default rim fit ment questions

ok befor i start i just want to say i searched and red just about every wheel size thread out there and the more i read the more i confuse my self.

i have a set of 17 x 7 et 42mm motegi track lite's. i had them on my Si and was trying 2 sell the for the longest time. when i put them on the S they seamed 2 stick out a bit but other than that they didn't really rub on the fender at all. i'm wondering if it would be posible 2 put a 235 40 17 on the rear and keep the 215 45 17's on the front. would 235 fit on the 7 inch rim? or would that be stretching it 2 much? also i know the min offset in the front for a 215 is 48 what would come of having a 42 there instead?

thanks for the help and pls keep the flaming 2 a min. serious advice only thanks guys.

It's possible. You do seem to have a good grasp of the right tire sizes and offsets. The biggest problem is the 7" in the rear is really narrow. You could squeeze a 235 on there but you would get some sidewall bulge. I think a 205/225 tire combo would be a better fit for the wheel width. If you don't mind compromising grip they should work.

You might consider picking up a matching pair of 8" +45 for the rear, it would allow you to run a wider tire in the rear.

yea i was looking at getting 2 new rims for the back but money is really tight right now and can't really afford to buy 2 skinnier tires for the front and new ones for the rears and the car handles like shit with 215's all around i actually had the ass end come out on me for no reason on dry pavement threw a turn.

i still got a bunch of parts from my Si i need 2 get sold. if i get the money i want for my subs and my avic i will be sitting good. problem is the rims are still on the CC because i was not planing on traiding in. a good deal showed it self and i jumped on it u know? so now i'm stuck with these. i'm thinking if i get this head unit and the subs sold then i will just buy some new cheaper rims that fit right for the S and call it good and save the shipping materal from the new rims 2 ship the old rims and lower the price then use that 2 pay off the new rims. i'd be lossing money but atleast i would have a small remaining balance. who knows though.

i don't like them and i want something with a smaller side wall. i'd like 2 get 18's but i don't got the money for that. i can stretch and get some cheep 17's untill i get more money and i'll be happy with that untill i got more money for 18's but if i can use the 17's i allready have i'm gona do that. i just don't wana buy tires for them and then have it not fit.

IMO you should just roll stock and save till you get what you really want cause in the end it will just end up costing you more if you just go cheap

well the thing is i don't want to buy that expensive of rims untill after the car is paid off, but i still want a lighter wheel and tire with better tires and a smaller sidewall. but i forgot 2 mention this earlier but the whole reason i started looking at rims and tires is because i just got the car and it pulls 2 the right so i had the dealer put on the we owe that they would fix the pull and the guy that did my alignment (which was really messed up) said that it still pulls because the driver rear tire has a separated band and that the tire is unsafe.

so today i'm going 2 try and get the dealer 2 get me a new tire for just that one. and then i will rock the stock's untill the rubber is gone. but if i can't then i'm going 2 wait untill i get my avic d3 and my subs from my old car sold. and that'll pay off my Credit card then i can get the rims and just take the packaging material and package the rims i have from my Si and sell thouse at a lower price now that i don't have 2 buy packaging material. so i can still get what i want outa them in the end. and that'll pay off most of the rims and tires that i'm looking at.

i'm thinking about the kosei k1 Ts on tire rack wraped with the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 i'm either going 2 get them in stock size or 215 for front and 235 or 245 for the rear. but at this point i'm thinking more stock size because i have enough traction as it is and untill i have the car paid off all i'mdoing to it is the exhuast and rims. by the time that i pay it off i'll be ready for new tires and i'll get the upgrade then.
