Default ssr type c rs 17inch

I was lookining around the tirerack website adn the advised tire size for an s2k:

17x8 front: 205/50
17x9 rear: 225/45

THe stock 17 inch were listed as:
215/45
245/40

I don't want the tires to be taller than ap2 tires... I think from my calculations (50% of 205, etc), the recommended tire size are a lil bigger than the stock ap2 size? I wan't to keep it as close as possible to stock (overall diameter).. I'm not too familiar with tire sizes, any help is greatly appreciated!

Just ignore what it says on their site, its wrong for S2K. Do something like 225/45 front, 255/40 rear

I was focussed on the height of the sidewall but forgot about the actual width! THanks for the info, didn't even realize that thetires would be narrower than stock, and the rims are a bit wider! THanks for all your input
