Hang on a second, honcho.
You can't tell him if it will fit because he hasn't mentioned what tire he plans to use.

Well you can look at the post right above yours, where I re-posted the fitment from the very first post of this guide. Choose your offset (45) and you'll see what tires will fit. (HINT: First line under the "for the front" section, and second line under the "for the rear" section.)
Remember - the wheel widths listed there are based on suggested widths for given tires. You can do what you want, within reason.

if I was reading the chart right, i would run into rubbing issues at the rear with RPF1 in 17X9 offset +45 and 255/40/17 tires right? does that mean I will need to roll my fenders? whether it be lowered or stock height.
Hi prob another annoying question for you, but cant find an answer after a quick search:
im looking at some BBS LMs 17x7 et42 5x114.3 all round so not staggered if I fit 215 on the front and 235 on back would that be allright or would this affect handling? the seller says they are ep3 fitment which im assuming is fine for s2k?
Thanks

Reason 1:
Rear wheels are narrower than stock. Why go backward?
Reason 2:
Rear tires will be narrower than stock (if you think that's not true, read the tire size sticky). This is actually a safety concern. Most people say "the car drives fine", "I've been driving mine for 10k miles with mine like this", "all my S2000 buddies did it", "but the race teams run same tires all around", BLAH BLAH BLAH. All that shit means nothing.
Why, you ask.
It's an accepted fact that the S2000 is one of the most neutral handling cars around. Even from the factory the car has earned a reputation for swapping ends. To put a narrower rear tire on the car exacerbates the problem. That is the bottom line.
Yes, you can drive down the road, take some "hard" turns, and it may seem fine. The problem happens when you actually get the car to 9.5 or 10 10ths. Then you realize the neutral handling turned into loose handling, and 99 out of 100 drivers (let's be honest with ourselves here, OK?) will not have the reaction times and skills to pull a car out of that situation, on PUBLIC roads, with other people around.
What if it rains? Then your limits are that much lower. You're driving your pretty little convertible around a bend and you hit a bit of standing water. You wake up in the hospital.
That exact scenario happened to a guy I know at work. He bought a used S2000 from a dealer. The dealer had replaced the tires with 205/225 combo, of course, because that is the correct tire size, right? (I again refer you to the tire size sticky.) He didn't know any better. Standing water. Backwards into oncoming traffic.
Be safe. Use wheels and tires that meet or exceed the factory specs, because you have the advantage of knowing about this forum and all the knowledge that has been gained here!
Regards,
Ken
Okay, i get the idea that there are minimum offsets that you can use with certain tire/ wheel widths to mitigate rubbing, but at what point is a setup gonna be protruding to far out past the fender well? I would have a set of gucci wheels by now if I just understood this whole process more, I'm too scared to throw money at something i'm not certain about. I just want the wildest largest wheel setup i can run without having to shave, roll, or modify anything.
