Well with a 45 offset in front, you're going to rub with anything wider than about 205.
So... good luck.
So... good luck.

Anyways, back to the question...do you think I should run 225s up front?
I think you should get different wheels.
Well, you asked.
If you can't get proper wheels for the car, then I would suggest 225s in front and 255s on the back. It might be tight, but I think it's worth the risk to keep the proper stagger.
If you're going to be modifying the car, you could also run a 225 front and 245 rear and compensate with perhaps a stiffer front sway bar.
Those fenders are 30 mm wider than stock, which is a bit overkill for your street application, so you may actually end up wanting a spacer on the front. You need maybe 8 mm more clearance for a 225 in front. So, 30 is a bit much.

Well...the wheels are probably staying for at least a little while. I see the advantages of keeping it staggered for street use. Maybe I can go with 225s and 255s and have essentially the same 30mm stagger as stock. Performance wise, is there much stretch using a 225 on a 9" wheel? I would think I could get away with just rolling the fenders on stock suspension if I run a 225.

I'm almost in a deal for a set of BBS LM wheels with 18x8 +50 (F) and 18x9.5 +55 ®. Front tires are 225/40 and rears are 265/35. According to the guide, it should fit fine..I hope.
Im so freakin confused after reading all this! I need help! All i want is to put on 17" Enkei rpf1's on ap1 bone stock suspension with lowest offset possible but with 100% no rubbing someone please help im confused!!!
The front does go that high:
+63 or higher offset: 245 tires, 7.5" - 8.5" wide wheel
The fact that your wheel is 9" doesn't mean you can use a tire wider than 245. Sure, you could fit a 265 on a 9" wheel - but your offset is 63, so anything wider than a 245 is likely to rub the fender.
The rear, at 72, could easily manage a 285. And with a 245 in front, there's no reason to go wider than that.
So, I would run 245/285 or 245/275.
