Default wheel spacers

Hey guys, I ran into a weird problem where the proper fitment TR Motorsports 17" wheels don't clear my brakes (the old Parts Helper kit which fits under the OEM 16").

Anyway, it looks like 3 mm spacers will get me rolling.

  1. Where can/should I get them?
  2. 3 mm should still allow the wheels to be hub-centric, right?
  3. Will I need extended lugs?

This is for a track car.

1. 5mm seems to be common from a sponsor or two. (Evasive)
2. If the spacer is hub centric, you will be hub centric. I think the front of the S is 70.1 IIRC

Do you already have extended studs? 3mm is only 1/8" so you can avoid the use of an extended stud. If this is a track only car, I would assume you would do extended stud when you next change your hubs and bearing. (I did mine that way)

I am in search for wheel spacers today to run OEM AP2V1 rears on the front of my car. I have the same kit as you. So I want a spacer with 64 on the hub side, and 70 on a wheel side that is 5mm. I think that will clear it. I still need to test fit them.

I did project kics spacers from evasive. 3mm in front 5mm in rear. I wonder how safe the 5mm are with my stock studs. Will it be dangerous while tracking the car?

1. Since they are only 3mm, any generic spacer will be fine. Spacer

2. Provided you have the proper hub-centric rings installed, yes.

3. I would feel comfortable running without extended studs but it wouldn't hurt to replace them. If you bought a set of 5mm H&R or something like that then they would come with extended studs.

Thanks for the answers. I would do the extended studs at next hub change (though I JUST changed them) so glad to hear a general consensus stock studs are likely fine (they'd also likely give warning rather than a total, catastrophic failure).

Anyway, problem solved a different way. I went with the other offset ( + 47?) on the wheels. Tire Rack is on my way to Gingerman, so I'm just gonna drop by and exchange my wheels and tires as I've not driven on them. In the process, I return the ZII's and get BFG Rivals (I read the GRM article 4 days after I received my ZII's) AND they had the wheels I'm getting on sale for -$20 due to an unpopular color. Mine are going to end up being the color of brake dust, so yay for me!
