winter tires? need help

I had Blizzaks on my Trans Am and the car did great. My family has also had good experience with them in RWD cars: my stepdad's S-Type R (390hp, 4.2 supercharged), my mom's old Boxster, and her current XKR (420hp, 4.2 supercharged). As long as you drive properly for the conditions you will get through almost anything in the winter. The only time you will run into problems will be when the snow is above the frame of the car or if you happen to be stuck in the unfortunate position of coming to a stop on an incline covered in ice. No tire will get you out of that situation.
I have been running General Altimax Arctic on the S2000 for the past two winters in 205/225 stagger size and they have done just as well as the Blizzaks in the snow and ice. They are a lot worse on dry pavement though--I can reach the limit of grip far sooner on the Generals than I could with the Blizzaks. This only matters if you are like me and want to push your car on those in-between-snow days when the roads are clear but you still have your stupid snow tires on

Looks like the Generals are available in a 205/60/16 and 225/55/16. Same width as stock, but slightly larger diameter. That would throw the speedo off by about 3.5%, but would technically give slightly more ground clearance. Hmmmmm.....

The 225/55R16 is not a good size on the S2000. With the 225/55R16 rear and the 205/55R16 front you will throw off the anti lock brakes and gear ratio. Just run the 205/55R16 all the way around.

i was recommended to run the 215/55/16 all the way around. it will be roughly 80bucks cheaper than 225/55/16 to do it this way. Would it perform no problem? and why does the stagger setup like jim says throw off abs and ratio?

I love the topic of snow tires. It amazes me every winter at how freaking well my car does in the snow. I've climbed up hill that two seconds prior trucks got stuck on and had to back down and drive a different root. I've yet to get the car stuck and trust me I've tried very hard.
Any problems with ABS at this tire size all around?
What wheels were used with these tires?
Is that with stock springs/shocks?
I understand that tire diameter ratios (Front to Rear) that are too far off from stock can cause issues with wheel speed based systems (ABS, traction control), but why did you specifically recommend the 205/55/R16 versus running 225/60/R16 all around?
